South African Airways (SAA), the national airline of South Africa, is thrilled to announce the launch of a new direct service to Lubumbashi, the second-largest city in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This strategic expansion is set to further strengthen the airline's network and enhance connectivity within the African continent. Starting from November 1, 2024, SAA will operate five weekly flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. The flights will connect OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg with Lubumbashi International Airport (FBM) in Lubumbashi, offering a convenient schedule for both business and leisure travellers.

The outbound flight will depart Johannesburg at 10:50 local time and arrive in Lubumbashi at 13:20 local time. The return flight will leave Lubumbashi at 14:10 local time and land in Johannesburg at 17:50 local time. "We are excited to introduce this new service, which underscores our commitment to providing our passengers with greater travel options within Africa," said a spokesperson for South African Airways.
