Air Senegal: Benin, Cameroon, Gabon… regular flights starting next month?
Air Senegal should serve Benin, Cameroon and Gabon with regular flights from March 29. According to an article in the Cameroonian newspaper Eco Matin, dated Monday, February 22, the marketing director of the Senegalese public company revealed it over the microphone of a Senegalese radio station.
“Regarding the opening of services, there is the one in Lyon, which should normally open on March 28. The next day, we will restart three services: those of Cotonou, Douala, and Libreville,”said Ernest Dikoum.
Air Senegal is planning up to 3 weekly flights to these cities. In November 2020, the carrier had already experimented with its markets for a trial period. At that time, the transporter indicated that the maintenance of these roads and their possible densification would be decided on the basis of performance. In the meantime, the company continues to intensify its services outside Africa. On February 17, it inaugurated its Dakar-Milan route in Italy (3 weekly flights). From March 28, the carrier will add Lyon. 3 flights per week will be offered following the Dakar – Marseille - Lyon - Dakar route. In France, Air Senegal also serves Paris. Before the health crisis, the company planned to connect London (Great Britain) and Geneva (Switzerland) in June 2020. This is still not the case to date. From next September, the carrier is also planning to start a direct flight to the United States.
