New lodge in Kruger National Park is cool with the kids
The Royal Portfolio, a collection of hotels and private residences in South Africa, has announced the opening of Waterside at Royal Malewane, a new lodge in the Greater Kruger National Park.
Waterside is a 12-bedroom, contemporary lodge that aims to be "exceptionally" family-friendly, welcoming children of all ages. The lodge features four luxury one-bedroom suites, two one-bedroom Aloe suites, one two-bedroom suite and a four-bedroom villa, Waterside House. Every room has a private deck with a pool.
"The guides and trackers are part of the Royal Malewane family, well known as the most qualified guiding team in Africa and especially equipped to create an engaging and exciting experience for young families," said Simon Mandy, managing director of the Royal Portfolio.
Rates, which start from $1,960 per person, are fully inclusive of all accommodations, meals, drinks (including fine South African wines), twice-daily game drives and bush walks. There are also single and double spa treatment rooms and a Hammam offering a variety of treatments as well as a gym and yoga/meditation room; wine cellar; game room and -- unusual for a safari lodge - a kids' entertainment area.
