Delta will launch nonstop service from Atlanta to Cape Town, and from Los Angeles to Tahiti on Dec. 17.

Delta will fly three-times weekly service between Atlanta and Cape Town with a three-class Airbus A350 and will be the lone carrier on the route, according to Cirium flight schedule data. It already flies to Johannesburg.  Delta will fly a Boeing 767 thrice weekly between Los Angeles and Papeete, Tahiti, competing against Air France and Air Tahiti Nui on the route.

The carrier also plans to resume flying between Atlanta and Tel Aviv on May 8 for the first time since 2011. Delta will operate the three-times weekly route with an A350. It will be the only airline flying between Atlanta and Israel's commercial center.

On the domestic front, Delta has announced the launch of twice-daily Miami-Los Angeles flights on Dec. 17. Miami will be Delta's fourth Florida destination from LAX, joining Fort Lauderdale, Tampa and Orlando. Delta will compete on the route with American and JetBlue. Tickets for the service go on sale Saturday.
