Emirates increases flights to Mauritius, Turkish Airlines strengthens in Seychelles Emirates increases flights to Mauritius, Turkish Airlines strengthens in Seychelles

Since the reopening of the borders, Seychelles and Mauritius have seen the return of several international airlines such as Emirates and Turkish Airlines. The resurgence of demand in these two African countries, which are heavily dependent on tourism, is motivating airlines to increase their offerings.

Emirates is planning to increase its services to Mauritius in the coming months. From 30 October, the Emirates carrier will introduce a third daily flight between its Dubai base and Port Louis. The route will be operated by Boeing 777 W aircraft. For this new non-competitive route, flights will depart at 10 pm and arrive the next day at 4.45 am. The return flights will leave Mauritius at 6.30 am and land in Dubai at 1.05 pm local time.  Currently, the two daily flights are operated by Airbus A380-800.

In a parallel development, Turkish Airlines is also planning to introduce a fourth weekly flight to the Seychelles, starting on 1 November 2022. The additional rotation will operate every Friday.

The Turkish carrier currently flies to the archipelago on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays with Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Flight TK748 departs Istanbul at 2.10am and arrives at Seychelles International Airport at 11am. In the opposite direction, flight TK749 leaves the archipelago at 23:15 local time and lands in the Turkish capital at 6:20. Turkish Airlines has no competition on this route.
