Air Montenegro operates into Northern Africa
Air Montenegro officially launched its operations in June 2021, replacing the defunct Montenegro Airlines. From its hub in Podgorica, the young startup is gradually building its network with an eye on the North African tourist markets.
Air Montenegro now serves Africa. Montenegro's flagship airline started regular charter flights between Podgorica and Cairo on August 2, 2022. The young carrier now connects the two capitals with a weekly flight every Tuesday. The route will remain active until 20 September.
The new service, which is aimed at Egyptian tourists visiting Montenegro, is organised by the Egyptian tour operator Tishoury tours. Air Montenegro is deploying an Airbus A320 leased with crew from Trade Air (Croatia). Its own fleet includes two Embraer ERJ 195. Its service network currently includes a dozen European routes.
