Its Director of Sales and Marketing, Samuel Razak Tachie, made the announcement on Wednesday, August 17, at a stakeholders' meeting held at Sunyani in the presence of traditional rulers, heads of departments, agencies, contractors and corporate bodies, reports Ghana News Agency. The private pavilion plans to go daily if demand requires it.

Ghana's President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, officially reopened the Sunyani Airport on August 3, after more than six years of closure due to construction. So far, Phase I of the US$8.4 million hub renovation project has involved the rehabilitation and extension of the runway (from 1,280 to 1,400 metres, with a width of 45 metres); repair of the apron; renovation of the terminal building; and construction of some of the infrastructure's internal roads. According to PassionAir's sales and marketing manager, the road will stimulate economic activities and create direct and indirect employment for the people of Sunyani town. For the Bono Regional Minister, Mrs. Justina Owusu-Banahene, the reopening of the airport will not only ease travel time to and from Sunyani and Accra, but would also boost the economic growth potential of the region through increased trade and investment. With an exclusive fleet of 5 Dash aircraft (two 8-400s and three 8-300s), with an average age of 25.9 years, PassionAir which launched operations in August 2018, currently serves only Ghanaian cities, departing from Accra, the capital.
