Neos returns to Mauritius after a 6-year absence Neos returns to Mauritius after a 6-year absence

A wholly-owned subsidiary of Italian tour operator Alpitour S.p.A, Neos has been offering low-cost flights to major holiday destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas since 2002.

Neos will return to Mauritius on 20 December 2022. From that date, the Italian carrier will offer 1 weekly flight (Tuesday) between Milan Malpensa, Rome and Port Louis, reports Aeroroutes on Friday 2 September. The route will be served by a 353-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (28 in business class and 331 in economy), without competition.

Once the route is operational, Neos will return to Mauritius more than six years after its departure. Until June 2016, the country was served via Nosy-Be (Madagascar). "With Neos Air's cheaper flights to Mauritius, you can discover a colourful country full of surprises. It is a must for lovers of green nature and outdoor activities, such as hiking, but not only: its beaches are a dream. Moreover, the ancient local culture and traditions are still very much alive. Mauritius is also known as the island of spices, for the large quantity and variety of plants grown in the region, especially ylang-ylang flowers, which have also influenced the local cuisine," says the private lodge.

Mauritius will become the eleventh African country served by Neos, after Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan, Sudan, Egypt, Tunisia, Mali, Senegal and Cape Verde.
