Royal Air Maroc returns to Qatar after more than 2 years of absence
Royal Air Maroc (RAM) had suspended its direct flights to Qatar in March 2020 due to the health crisis.
RAM has announced that it will re-establish its direct route between Casablanca and Doha from 12 September 2022. The route will be operated every weekday with a 787-9 aircraft with a capacity of 302 seats, including 26 in business class.
Flight AT216 will depart from Casablanca's Mohammed V airport at 2.45pm, arriving in Doha at 00.15am the following day. In the opposite direction, flight AT217 will leave the Qatari capital at 02:15, landing in the Moroccan megalopolis at 08:10.
The flights will be code-shared with Qatar Airways, which already operates a daily rotation on this route every weekday. "We are delighted to extend our cooperation with the resumption of flights to Doha by our oneworld partner Royal Air Maroc. Qatar Airways and Royal Air Maroc have enjoyed a strong partnership since 2015 based on the determination to create a very dense network. This partnership reinforces our commitment to our passengers as they transit through Hamad International, the best airport in the world. Doha is firmly positioned as a leading oneworld hub with more partner airlines than ever before, allowing passengers to enjoy global connectivity to more than 150 destinations across Qatar Airways' global network," said Akbar AL BAKER, Qatar Airways Group Chairman.
"This partnership will provide additional benefits to our customers in terms of travel quality and service on board the aircraft of both airlines and on the most prestigious alliance network in the world to which they are affiliated, namely oneworld," commented the CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Hamid ADDOU.
The two companies are linked by a strategic cooperation agreement signed on 6 May 2015.
