Delta bolsters its South Africa service
Delta Air Lines is expanding its South Africa network, introducing a seasonal "triangular" route from Atlanta to Johannesburg and on to Cape Town starting Dec. 2. The route will be flown four times weekly and will complement the carrier's nonstop service from both Cape Town and Johannesburg to Atlanta, which means both cities will have daily operations to the U.S. by the end of this year.
"As demand for travel increases, we'll be offering our largest-ever schedule between South Africa and the U.S.," said Jimmy Eichelgruen, Delta's director of sales for Africa, Middle East and India.
All of Delta's South Africa flights are operated using Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The new route offers international travel only; customers are unable to travel domestically between Johannesburg and Cape Town.
