Eswatini Air launches Embraer ERJ135/145 pilot recruitment campaign
With the start of commercial operations imminent, Eswatini Air has launched a recruitment campaign for pilots qualified on Embraer ERJ135/145 aircraft. The offer, which is for captains and co-pilots, runs until 11 November 2022.
The company's new start date will be announced following the issuance of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC). It was originally scheduled for mid-June 2022. In a statement dated 12 October, Eswatini Air said it was at stage 4 (on a scale of 5) of the certification process.
Its route network will initially include four regional routes, namely Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town in South Africa and Harare in Zimbabwe. In May this year, it signed a GDS agreement with ticketing and distribution specialist Hahn Air to expand its indirect sales to secondary markets and increase ticket sales to 100,000 travel agencies in over 190 markets.
Eswatini Air is focusing on the tourist niche, but also on business travel. Eswatini, a small landlocked monarchy in southern Africa, is renowned for its nature reserves and festivals featuring traditional Swazi culture. The country of 17,364 km² shares borders with Mozambique and South Africa.
