Ethiopian Airlines réceptionne son 19e Airbus A350, le premier de l’année Ethiopian Airlines réceptionne son 19e Airbus A350, le premier de l’année

Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its wide-body fleet. The Ethiopian national carrier has taken delivery of a new Airbus A350-900. The aircraft ( msn 582, ETAZI) arrived in Addis Ababa on Friday 18 November from Toulouse Blagnac.

It is the first A350-900 received this year and the nineteenth in the fleet. At the beginning of the health crisis, some of them (5 modules) were temporarily converted into freighters to support the offer.

Ethiopian Airlines took delivery of its first aircraft of the type in June 2016, becoming the first A350 operator in Africa. Its order book still includes an A350-900 in addition to four A350-1000s confirmed last July - a larger variant for which it will also become the launch airline in Africa.

"The Airbus A350's sleek design features advanced aerodynamics, carbon fibre fuselage and wings, and the most fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines. Together, these latest technologies result in unprecedented levels of operational efficiency and sustainability for Ethiopian Airlines, with a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to the previous generation twin-aisle aircraft," explains Airbus.

As a reminder, since the beginning of this year, the airline has introduced 10 new aircraft into its fleet: four Dash8-400s, one 737-800F, four 737 MAX 8s and one A350-900.
