Cathay Pacific to return to South Africa
The flag carrier of Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific, is set to return to South Africa. The airline has announced that it will resume direct flights between Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) in Hong Kong and OR Tambo International Airport (JNB)Johannesburg on 02 August 2023. Cathay Pacific will operate three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
The flights will be on board an Airbus A350-900 with 280 seats in three classes - business class (38 seats), premium economy class (28 seats) and economy class (214 seats).
Cathay Pacific stopped operating flights to South Africa in November 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
