Cape Town: Lion's Head summit to temporarily close on short notice Cape Town: Lion's Head summit to temporarily close on short notice

South African National Parks (SANParks) just announced on short notice that the summit of Lion's Head, located in Cape Town's Table Mountain National Park, will be closed on 11 July 2023 and 12 July 2023 for ladders, chains, and staples installation and maintenance. There will be no access to the summit. However, the lower contour footpath will remain open. Accoring to SANParks, the announcement is on short notice as this installation is weather dependent. We'll keep you posted!

Lion's Head is a mountain in Cape Town between Table Mountain and Signal Hill. It peaks at 669 metres above sea level. Lion's Head is known for its views of both the city and the Atlantic Seaboard. The hour-long walk to the top is particularly popular during full moon. The next full moon will be on 01 August 2023.
