Ibadan airport today was the center of activities as the airport welcome many dignitaries with the commencement of flight Operations by Green Africa Airways.

Activities of the day commenced at 0630hrs with check in of Abuja bound passengers on Green Africa flight. Signalling the commencement of operations to the airport was GAA aircraft with Reg No 5N – GAE which landed  at the  Airport at 7:40 am and was welcomed with a beautiful water cannon by the personnel of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service followed by other fanfare.

On ground to receive the flight were the Executive Governor of Oyo State represented by the Deputy Governor Adebayo Lawal, the Airport Manager, Otunba Adedeji Ojo Afolabi, members of the state House of Assembly, Chiefs and other Airport Stakeholders. The Founder and Chief Executive Officer, GAA, Babawande Afolabi officially announced the commencement of operation at the inaugural flight ceremony.

The airline is scheduled to operate throughout the week except on Wednesdays between Lagos-Ibadan and Ibadan- Abuja.
