Lufthansa to launch a new nonstop service to South Africa
German flag carrier, Lufthansa, is set to launch a new nonstop service to South Africa. The airline, which already operates return flights from Frankfurt to Johannesburg and from Frankfurt to Cape Town, will commence operations from Munich Airport (MUC) in Munich to OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) in Johannesburg from 03 June 2024.
Lufthansa will fly three times weekly between the two destinations on board an Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The last scheduled Lufthansa service from Munich to Johannesburg took place in 2005.
