ITA Airways commences direct flights to Accra
ITA Airways, an Italian-based airline, has successfully inaugurated commercial flight operations to Accra, marking a milestone for travellers.
The inaugural flight received a warm welcome at Kotoka International Airport, complete with a water cannon salute by the Rescue and Fire Fighting team of Ghana Airports Company Limited as it touched down last night, June 6 at approximately 19:37 hours.
In her welcome address, Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited, commended the ITA team for the launch, emphasizing its significance in bolstering confidence in Ghana’s aviation industry. She highlighted the direct Rome/Accra/Rome route as a game-changer, offering unparalleled convenience and efficiency for both business and leisure travelers.
“The introduction of this direct flight route signifies a new era of convenience and efficiency for travelers, both for business and leisure purposes, offering passengers more options and seamless connectivity between these two vibrant cities,” Opare said.

ITA Airways will operate four-weekly flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, from Accra to Rome, further enhancing travel options and connectivity between the two vibrant cities.
