What’s on the horizon for: Sabre
At Routes Americas 2024 in Bogota, representatives from Texas-based software and technology company Sabre spoke to Routes about how changes in route development have led to the need for more robust data sources.
Sabre is the largest global distribution systems (GDS) provider for air bookings, as well as offering a broad range of products to help travel suppliers and buyers plan, market, sell, serve and operate their businesses. Network planning tools include platforms to help manage connections, match capacity with demand, and maximize slot usage.
“Things have changed in network planning; it has become more dynamic and complex, especially with issues around maintenance, pilots, supply chain problems, and aircraft deliveries. Airlines are now approaching network planning differently,” Razvi Murtuza, director product management network planning and optimization at Sabre, told Routes.
One of the company’s latest tools, SabreMosaic, is an AI-powered airline retail platform developed in partnership with Google, designed to deliver personalized content to travelers.
Exhibiting during Routes Americas 2024 in Bogota, Sachin Nandula, manager of product management MI, travel data and PRISM at Sabre, noted the organization's strong appeal with airlines, where solutions to support route forecasting are paramount to development, and from airports where accurate data is required to effectively present route proposals to carriers.
“We have had a lot of attraction, met a lot of new people, and identified a lot of needs for data accuracy,” he said. “We had great industry insights from the discussions Routes have facilitated and had ample networking opportunities. We’ve had nothing but the best success in this event and look forward to seeing the community again at Routes World.”
