Max Air Aarcraft experiences multiple tyre failures at Yola Airport Max Air Aarcraft experiences multiple tyre failures at Yola Airport

A dramatic incident unfolded on Sunday evening at the Yola Airport when a Max Airlines Boeing 737 aircraft suffered a catastrophic tyre burst during take-off, leaving four of its tyres deflated.

According to a statement released by the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), the aircraft was carrying 119 passengers and six crew members on board when the incident occurred.

The aircraft, which was bound for Abuja, had been cleared for take-off when the rear gear tyres suddenly burst, causing a loud bang.

The initial burst of two tyres was followed by the failure of the remaining two tyres as the aircraft attempted to taxi off the runway, leaving it completely disabled. Miraculously, no injuries were reported among the passengers and crew.

An investigation into the incident has been launched, with a go-team led by NSIB Director General Captain Alex Badeh Jr. scheduled to visit the incident site on Monday morning to gather more information.
