NCAA Commits to Partner with IATA for Workforce Training
The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has announced its intention to collaborate with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to enhance the skills and knowledge of its workforce. Acting Director General, NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, expressed this commitment during a strategic meeting with IATA’s Regional Vice President for Africa & Middle East, Mr. Kamil H. Al-Awadhi.
The meeting, held on October 14, 2024, focused on key areas such as:
Compliance: Ensuring the NCAA meets all mandatory requirements as a Civil Aviation Authority.
Financial Sustainability: Exploring strategies for cost-recovery and reducing operational expenses.
Ticket Pricing: Addressing issues related to ticket costs and affordability.
Training and Development: Providing IATA and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) training and retraining programs for NCAA staff.
The partnership between the NCAA and IATA is expected to contribute to the overall improvement of aviation safety and efficiency in Nigeria.
