DeThekwini Municipality Updates Beach and Pool Status for Durban

As of December 13, 2024, the eThekwini Municipality has published updated information regarding the status of beaches and swimming pools in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Currently, 20 beaches are open for swimming, while three beaches are closed due to water quality concerns. Additionally, there are 33 public swimming pools available for use. Open Beaches (Operating Hours: 06:00 - 18:30):

• Thekwini Beach
• Laguna Beach
• Country Club
• mDloti Main
• uMhlanga Main
• Bronze Beach

• Brighton
• Winkelespruit
• Toti Main Beach
• Pipeline Beach
• Warner Beach

Closed Beaches:

• Anstey's Beach
• Reunion
• Westbrook

While swimming is prohibited at the closed beaches, recreational activities are still allowed.
