Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park: Temporary Shop Hour Changes in February 2025 Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park: Temporary Shop Hour Changes in February 2025

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park management, under SANParks, has announced adjustments to shop operating hours at several rest camps this February due to scheduled monthly stocktaking. These changes will affect visitors staying at or passing through the Nossob, Mata Mata, and Twee Rivieren Rest Camps on specific dates.

On 18 February 2025, the shop at Nossob Rest Camp will operate during limited hours, opening from 07:00 to 09:00 in the morning and again from 15:00 to 19:45 in the evening. Similarly, the shop at Mata Mata Rest Camp will follow the same schedule on 20 February 2025, ensuring guests still have access to essential goods despite the stocktaking activities.

Meanwhile, the shop at Twee Rivieren Rest Camp, the park’s main entrance and hub, will have reduced hours on 26 February 2025, opening only in the afternoon from 15:00 to 19:45.

Visitors are encouraged to plan their shopping in line with these temporary schedules to avoid inconvenience. The shops provide essential supplies such as food, beverages, and camping necessities, which are particularly important for those embarking on extended stays or self-drive safaris in the park.

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and exceptional wildlife sightings, spans the borders of South Africa and Botswana. The park is a popular destination for tourists and offers a variety of accommodations, including rest camps and wilderness camps, catering to both self-catering and adventure-seeking travelers.

For African travel agents, it’s important to relay this information to clients planning trips to the park during February. Advising travelers to stock up on essentials during the adjusted hours will help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience in this remote wilderness destination.

These temporary changes highlight SANParks’ commitment to maintaining well-stocked facilities for visitors while balancing operational needs. The management assures guests that regular shop hours will resume immediately after the stocktaking process is completed.

Travelers heading to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park during February are advised to make note of these dates and shop hours to enhance their stay in one of Africa’s most iconic transfrontier conservation areas.
