Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest and fastest-growing airline, has announced the launch of a new passenger flight service to Porto, Portugal, starting July 2, 2025. This new route will operate four times a week aboard the airline’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with a single stop in Madrid, Spain. The service aims to enhance connectivity between Africa and Europe, further solidifying Ethiopian Airlines’ position as a leader in regional and global aviation.

Flight Schedule and Details

The new service will follow the schedule below:

  • Flight ET740: Departs Addis Ababa on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 23:10, arriving in Madrid at 05:55 the next day. It will then depart Madrid at 06:55, arriving in Porto at 07:15.
  • Flight ET741: Departs Porto on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 19:55, arriving in Madrid at 21:10. After a brief stop, it will depart Madrid at 23:10, landing in Addis Ababa at 07:25 the following day.

This new route not only provides seamless travel options for passengers but also strengthens Ethiopian Airlines’ European network, which currently includes 22 destinations served by approximately 140 weekly passenger flights. The airline also operates cargo services to eight destinations across Europe, further enhancing its connectivity in the region.
