Overland Airways Takes Off to Minna, Connecting Niger State to Nigeria's Key Hubs
Overland Airways is launching a new service connecting Minna, the capital of Niger State, with Abuja and Lagos. Starting April 23, 2025, these flights will operate three times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays – utilizing the airline's new Embraer 175 aircraft. This initiative is a collaborative effort with the Niger State Government, aimed at boosting the region's accessibility and stimulating economic activities.
This new air link is poised to transform Minna into a major travel center, facilitating tourism and trade within Niger State. Flights from Lagos to Minna are scheduled for 8:00 AM, with return flights departing at 3:00 PM. The Minna-Abuja route will see departures from Minna at 9:30 AM and from Abuja at 2:00 PM. This convenient schedule caters to both business and leisure travelers, enhancing connectivity between Niger State and Nigeria's key commercial and administrative centers.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport in Minna is equipped with modern facilities, including an Instrumental Landing System (ILS) and Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), ensuring safe and efficient operations. A new 60,000-liter Jet A1 tank farm guarantees a reliable fuel supply, while a dedicated Hajj terminal caters to religious travelers. The airport also features a significant agro-processing zone, expected to drive cargo business, particularly for agricultural exports, further enhancing the state's economic potential.
