Uganda: Rainforest Lodge Mabira set to reopen on Monday Uganda: Rainforest Lodge Mabira set to reopen on Monday

The Rainforest Lodge in Mabira Forest will open its doors again next Monday and the new lodge operators will relaunch – following an extended lockdown over #COVID19 directives by the Ugandan government – with renewed vigour.

Just a few days before the lockdown was announced and hotels, lodges and resorts forced to close down, had CityBlu taken charge as reported at the time by ATCNews: https://atcnews.org/2020/03/04/rainforest-lodge-mabira-comes-under-new-management/

Full board accommodation is on offer for Ugandan residents and citizens at 70 US Dollars per person, a most welcome difference to some other properties which think that 130 US Dollars per person is doing anyone a favour or that 200 US Dollars in a double room can help them to crank up domestic travel in order to make up for the loss of international travelers.

ATCNews had in the past repeatedly highlighted the adventure activities Mabira Forest offers guests staying at the RainForest Lodge, be it for hiking, biking or just to explore the forest to see some of the 315 birds species, 218 butterfly butterflies, the medicinal trees and shrubs among the 312 species of trees or some of the 23 recorded forest mammals.

The Rainforest Lodge by City Blu, as the new formal name of the lodge now is, will be welcoming guests with open arms, and being located just over half way from Kampala to Jinja, makes for a short distance while traveling via Mukono and Lugazi to the lodge.
