RAM in heavy waters
Around 850 Royal Air Maroc (RAM) staff, including pilots, are facing redundancy as the airlines has continued to struggle during Covid-19 and look to a recovery plan.
As part of its recovery plan, RAM has reportedly decided to sell some of its fleet, in addition to eliminating several air routes and stopovers.
Most of RAM’s fleet have been on hold for more than two months after the Morocco government closed the country’s borders to contain the spread of Covid-19, which has resulted in a loss of £5million a day for the airline.
RAM CEO Abdelhamid Addou said the loss is the ‘worst’ the airline has ever faced.
