After hesitating at first and under pressure from public opinion, the Comorian government decided to close its air borders on March 23, 2020, in response to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, only cargo and repatriation flights have taken place. According to the latest report, the country has 422 positive cases, including 7 deaths.

With the reopening of air borders, the Union of the Comoros should expect in the coming days the return of international and regional companies such as Air Austral, Air Madagascar, Ethiopian Airlines, Ewa Air, Air Tanzania or Kenya Airways.
