New Cruise Terminal in Tokyo
Last Thursday, the new port terminal was finally opened in Tokyo. The opening was originally planned for the Olympic Games, but it was also postponed due to the corona pandemic. Now the terminal has been completed and would be ready for operation - but the cruise ships will be absent for the time being due to the current situation.
The new terminal should be able to accommodate even the largest cruise liners in the world, i.e. the Oasis Class ships operated by Royal Caribbean International. Tokyo is thus strengthening itself as a cruise destination and the new terminal will certainly make it even more interesting for one or the other route planning. When there will be the first call by a large ship is still uncertain.
The entire construction project for the new port terminal is said to have been valued at a cost of around 310 million euros.
