LAM will continue its flights to Portugal at least until January 2021
The Maputo - Lisbon route relaunched by LAM - Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique on August 25, seems to be bearing fruit. This is why the Mozambican national company announced on Tuesday, September 15, that it would continue to operate it until January 2021.The line should in principle be closed this September, according to the initial schedule. The return of the carrier to Portugal came after nine years of absence.
Despite maintaining the route, its service remains limited to one weekly flight, and at the same times. That is, Wednesdays at 11:50 p.m. from the Portuguese capital. The route is operated by Airbus A330-300 chartered from Hi Fly Malta. "However, there are plans to modify the schedules and the number of frequencies according to market needs," the company explains.
“We are working with other airlines in Europe to provide unique fares for destinations beyond Lisbon,” reveals LAM Managing Director Jean Carlos Poudre Jorge. His company is also planning to resume travel to Johannesburg, South Africa (Wednesday). Before the crisis, she also flew to Dar-Es-Salaam in Tanzania, and Nairobi in Kenya.
