Mauritius is calling travelers for an upcoming vacation Mauritius is calling travelers for an upcoming vacation

Mauritius, the Indian Ocean paradise has finally reopened its borders in the beginning of September, and with the pandemic slowly reaching a halt, Mauritius is the perfect getaway to unwind and release the accumulated stress of the previous months. With its golden beaches, crystal clear waters, vibrant nature and a wide variety of family-friendly activities all around the island.

Mauritius is the optimum destination for travelers from the Middle East all year round, where visitors can enjoy swimming in crystal clear waters and stroll along the golden sands of the island’s shores. The island boasts a number of thrilling activities which include quad-biking around beautiful scenery in Mauritian wilderness, where adventurous travelers can roam through Frederica Natural Reserve enjoying dazzling natural surroundings and meeting exotic wild animals.

On the other hand, submarine rides deep under the waters of the Indian Ocean are one of the most sought-after water activities on the island. Each submarine fits up to 10 people, which is perfect for big families, and the entire experience takes up to two hours of diving amongst outlandish sea life including turtles, eels, and tropical fish.

Another exciting water activity is kite surfing, where pros and newbies alike can enjoy a surf on the scintillating waves of Mauritius. For beginners, personal surfing tutors would be present to instruct and guide the visitors to enjoy a wholesome experience.

Mauritius is also a great place for other recreational activities such as hiking, dolphin watching, snorkeling, safari adventures and much more.

Accordingly, to prepare Mauritius for the reopening, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) revealed strict precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of residents and visitors. Those include sanitary measures and guidelines taken for all enterprises and activities operating in the tourism sector including hotels, restaurants, shops, shopping malls, golf courses, tourist guides, as well as specific measures for nautical activities and commercial pleasure crafts.

In further attempts to promote Mauritius as an attractive post-pandemic destination and update the travel sector of what the island has planned, MTPA hosted a one-of-a-kind 3D virtual tourism exhibition on the 10th of August for the Saudi Arabia and Middle East market. The objective of the exhibition was to position Mauritius as the prime destination for Middle Eastern travelers post-pandemic. During the virtual exhibition Middle Eastern travel professionals have been provided with various updates and information regarding future travel options and the attractions of Mauritius, along with concrete opportunities for Mauritius tourism providers and Middle Eastern travel professionals to explore all avenues for mutual business development.

the unfortunate Wakashio Bulk Carrier’s oil spill incident that happened in early August contaminated some of the Southern east costal nature of Mauritius, however more than 96% of the island’s shores have not been contaminated, and the Mauritian authorities are working unceasingly to cleanse the affected area as soon as possible to return the beauty to the Indian Ocean paradise.
