Local airline opens Lagos-Johannesburg operations
All is set for the Air Peace airlines’ inaugural flight to open the Lagos-Johannesburg direct scheduled flight services.
The airline yesterday told The Guardian that all necessary arrangement had been concluded for December 2 maiden flight.
Similarly, the leading carrier is scheduled to operate a special commercial charter flight to Delhi, India, on November 27, as part of preparation for the scheduled flight services between Nigeria and India.
The Federal Government in 2019 granted Air Peace approval to operate routes like London, Dubai, Johannesburg, Beijing, Mumbai, among others. The Johannesburg operations were already finalised early this year, until COVID-19 disrupted the plan. Communication Manager of the Airline, Stanley Olisa, said the preparation had been rejigged for the operation to commence.
Travel agencies are upbeat that the entry of Air Peace will fill the vacuum created by the collapse of South African Airways, avail affordable fares and direct connection between West and Southern Africa via Lagos route.
