Air Senegal returns to Morocco, brings Casablanca and Barcelona closer
Absent from the Moroccan market since July 2020, Air Senegal returns to Casablanca next week to experiment with a new route, which extends to Barcelona in Spain.
Milan in Italy and Lyon in France are its next 2 routes.
On February 16, Air Senegal will reopen its Dakar - Casablanca route, suspended in March 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But unlike before, it will now be coupled to the Dakar - Barcelona line. Thus, the Dakar - Casablanca - Barcelona rotation will be operated 3 times a week(Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays). The connection between Senegal, Morocco and Spain will be made by Airbus A319 with 120 seats (12 in business class and 108 in economy class). "Air Senegal has chosen to experiment with this new route by configuring it in this way, to support the revival of tourism through this significant tourism niche. With days and flight times adapted to the needs of travelers, this link will strengthen and facilitate the connection between Southern Europe, a major tourist source market, and Dakar, via Casablanca, also a tourist destination of great fame”, explains Ibrahima Kane, general manager of the Senegalese national company.
Remember that in Europe, Air Senegal already serves Paris and Marseille. As part of the densification of its network, the company will launch on February 17, its corridor to Milan in Italy (3 weekly flights). From March 28, the carrier will add Lyon to its network. 3 flights per week will be offered following the Dakar-Marseille-Lyon-Dakar route. Before the health crisis, the company planned to serve London (Great Britain) and Geneva (Switzerland) in June 2020. This is still not the case to date. Transatlantic routes, particularly to Washington and New York in the United States, were also included in its 2020 growth plan.
