FITUR 2021 to have a new space for travel agents’ business meetings FITUR 2021 to have a new space for travel agents’ business meetings

FITUR 2021 will have a CEAV B2B space for business meetings between travel agents and tourism industry suppliers present at the Fair. This new special-interest space is organised by the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV) to help boost tourism business again, one of the priorities for the International Tourism Fair’s Tourism Recovery Special edition from 19th to 23rd May 2021, at Feria de Madrid.

The CEAV B2B space will host a series of networking sessions and panel discussions between travel agents and tourism suppliers and have an area with desks for working. The aim is to give the travel agent a more prominent and valued role because they will become essential for post-Covid travellers, who will need more advice.

The meeting agenda can be generated by using FITUR Live Connect, a platform that puts fair participants in contact to promote communication and meetings.

New Needs One of the most important objectives for the new tourist will be to feel safe from infection in the scenario ahead. So, all the items that make up their journey will be different, in one way or another, as they prioritise sanitary safety. Tourists will choose less crowded destinations in rural environments, areas with nature and mountains where they can enjoy outdoor experiences, and always looking for security, hygiene, privacy, and tranquillity: critical factors for a tourist destination in the Covid era.

Cancellation and travel assistance insurance with Covid-19 coverage is also essential for travellers due to constantly changing travel restrictions. And so is the travel booking channel. Online bookings will be more popular than ever, but with greater support from travel agents, which can provide travellers with the peace of mind they so badly need today.

Training Sessions The CEAV B2B space will also host training sessions focusing on legal issues, such as updates about legislative and regulatory changes affecting package travel: essential issues for travel agencies in the future.

The Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV) highlights the importance of this edition of FITUR, which “will mark the beginning of the recovery” for the tourism industry. “FITUR was the last big public event before the pandemic, and we’re delighted that it’s going to be the first to start again now. It’s an especially important time for travel agencies to come together to start getting this industry moving again.”
