Sudan revives plans to build a new international airport in Khartoum
Built in 1947, Khartoum International Airport is no longer able to handle the growing passenger traffic. Initially located 4 kilometres from the city centre, it is now close to residential areas due to heavy urbanisation.
Faced with the impossibility of expanding the airport in 2019, the country had started procedures for the construction of a new hub.
