AmaWaterways' new ship makes debut in Egypt
The AmaDahlia, AmaWaterways' new Nile River ship, set sail on its maiden cruise from Egypt on Sept. 6.
Guests in Luxor were greeted by local musicians and an Egyptian whirling dervish performance before exploring the AmaDahlia and embarking on a seven-night cruise.
The AmaDahlia has 36 staterooms, including 16 suites. Guests can dine in the main restaurant or the Chef's Al Fresco restaurant on an open deck. There's a swimming pool and bar on the sun deck.
The 11-night Secrets of Egypt & the Nile itinerary includes three nights in Cairo at the Four Seasons hotel. Guests also stay one night at the Four Seasons after the cruise and get a private tour and farewell lunch at the Abdeen Presidential Palace.
After three nights in Cairo, guests fly to Luxor for a seven-night roundtrip cruise that visits Luxor, Edfu, Aswan and Qena.
Onboard the AmaDahlia, guests are treated to local entertainment and sessions led by Egyptologists who provide insider knowledge about the mysteries and secrets that have shaped Egypt.
Optional extensions are three nights in Dubai or four nights in Jordan before the Egypt trip and four nights in Israel after it.
AmaDahlia guests must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19. For entry into Egypt, travelers must present a printed negative PCR test and complete and carry with them an Egyptian health declaration form.
