Sustainable travel takes centre-stage at 2021 Business Travel Show Sustainable travel takes centre-stage at 2021 Business Travel Show

Delegates with pre-booked meetings at the 2021 Business Travel Show can offset their travel to the event thanks to Direct ATPI Global Travel. Accredited carbon-offsetting from Respira is available to delegates with pre-booked meetings at stand BTSE140, for those wanting to keep their environmental footprint to a minimum.

The green initiative is part of Direct ATPI Global Travel’s Business Travel Show theme ‘map your return to travel’, highlighting to travel managers the areas of focus that should be top of the agenda as travel resumes. In addition to sustainability, Direct ATPI Global Travel is also supporting delegates with on-stand practical advice around booking content, travel management technology and service.

Adam Knights, managing director, Europe and the Middle East, the ATPI Group, said: “Many corporate organisations haven’t reassessed their travel since before the pandemic. As travel slowly begins to return, we’re taking the opportunity of the Business Travel Show to highlight the goals that need to be front and centre of a travel manager’s agenda as they prepare for a restart. In particular that includes a robust approach to sustainability, and we’re highlighting where travel policies can make a meaningful difference to a company’s overall approach to reducing their environmental impact.

“Topics such as NDC and travel content, as well as service, have only become more important during the last 18 months. It’s a good time to make a fresh start and we’re looking forward to talking to clients and potential clients about how they can return to travel in a new, more relevant, way.”

Direct ATPI’s investment in offsetting travel for delegates of the Business Travel Show is just one area in which the business is supporting clients to take a more sustainable approach to business travel. Show attendees will be able to learn more about how revamped travel policies can support an organisation’s sustainability goals, talk to experts who have supported clients to deliver a greener approach to travel, and see case studies detailing the practical changes other businesses have made.
