Qatar Airways to resume flights to Namibia
According to a tweet by the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways, will resume direct flights between Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek in June 2022.
The news emerged during a meeting between Namibia's President Hage Geingob and the Group CEO of Qatar Airways and Secretary-General of Qatar Tourism, Akbar Al-Baker, in Doha. Qatar Airways suspended flights between Doha and Windhoek due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Prior to the pandemic, the airline operated four weekly return flights to Namibia.
