GH-Wings Airlines is making progress with its AOC, opting for the Dash8-400 for its launch this year
GH-Wings Airlines will be based in Accra. As a prelude to its launch by the end of the year, it recently signed an agreement with Ethiopian Airlines for the maintenance of its future Dash 8-400 fleet.
GH-Wings Airlines is getting closer to its launch. The new Ghanaian startup has just successfully completed phase 2 of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) process.
"We are entering the third phase of the process. Then we'll go into the demonstration phase," CEO Palmer Wesley-Quaison told NewsAero in an interview.
He is counting on two Dash8-400 aircraft for the launch. The two aircraft have already been identified and discussions are ongoing," he revealed.
GH-Wings Airlines will start operations in the domestic market first. From its base in Accra, the carrier will serve the cities of Kumasi, Tamale, Wa and Sunyani. This network will be expanded according to demand.
Eventually, the airline is targeting a fleet of six Dash8-400s for the development of its regional network and later Boeing 737-800 aircraft for the construction of international routes.
