TICV has been grounded since mid-May following the withdrawal of its majority shareholder, the Spanish Binter. Bought last month by Angolan interests, Cape Verde's main domestic airline is preparing its return to the air.
Last May, Binter finally opted to suspend the activities of its Cape Verdean subsidiary in an attempt to obtain financial support in the midst of the health crisis.
Given that it held the monopoly on the domestic market, the Cape Verdean state had no other option than to urgently find a replacement. A provisional choice was made for the Angolan group Bestfly.
