Morocco and Togo sign visa waiver agreement
The decades-old diplomatic relations between Morocco and Togo have reached a new milestone with the opening of the Togo Consulate General in Dakhla in the southern part of the country.
Since 21 July 2022, all holders of ordinary Togolese passports can enter and leave Morocco without a visa, and vice versa. This is provided for in the agreement signed by the two countries on the same day, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Togolese consulate general in Dakhla (Morocco).
The documents were initialled by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Togolese Abroad, Professor Robert Dussey, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, Nasser Bourita.
"This will promote exchanges, trade, etc.," said Mr. Dussey. "The opening of this consulate consolidates the historical and important relations between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and his brother Faure Gnassingbe, the President of Togo, their personal friendship, but also their shared vision with regard to our bilateral relations and the future of our continent, in all its dimensions," said his counterpart Bourita.
