Zambian Transport Minister tours newly constructed Tanzania Railway Corporation station facility
Zambian Minister of Transport and Logistics Hon. Frank Museba Tayali, MP, conducted a tour of the newly constructed Tanzania Railway Corporation station facility that will be using electric-powered trains to cover a distance of 900 Km from Dar es Salaam to Mwanza. The tour was led by country Manager Eng. Fuat Kemal Uzun of Yapi Merkezi Consortium and Industry Inc.
Accompanying the Minister on the tour was TAZARA’s Managing Director Eng. Bruno Tandeo Ching’andu, Assistant Director Railway Transport Eng. Emmanuel Sampa and Director of Railway Operations in Tanzania at Tanzania Railways Corporation Mr. Makoye Sahani.
The tour of the Tanzania Railways Corporation facilities included the Kwala marshalling yard, which is 98km from Dar es Salaam.
Team Sweden with its consortium Yapi Merkezi are the contractors of the new railway system in Tanzania and the same consortium that the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) in Zambia awarded the rehabilitation of Zambia Railway Limited to.
