Air Senegal deploys an Airbus A340 to the US
Starting next month, Air Senegal will operate an Airbus A340-300 on its two US destinations.
From 21 September to 27 October, the Senegalese flag carrier will operate the HC407/408 rotation with the four-engine aircraft, which can accommodate 32 seats in Business Class and 264 in Economy Class. The aircraft (9H-ZKM), wet-leased from Airhub Airline Malta, is currently deployed by Air Senegal on the Paris, Milan and Conakry routes. This aircraft was already temporarily operated to the US in June.
Air Senegal's regular daily rotation between Dakar and the US is operated with A330-900s (32 +21 +237). Flight HC 407 departs Dakar on Thursdays and Sundays at 02:00 and arrives at New York JFK International Airport at 06:20 local time, then continues to Baltimore where it lands at 10:30. On the return journey, flight HC408 leaves the American capital at 20:30 to land in Dakar at 12:15 the next day, after a 1h55 min stopover in New York.
On 5 and 6 July, the airline also introduced another A340-300 (9H-HOP), still leased from Airhub Airline, to serve Paris and Milan.
Air Senegal's fleet currently comprises two A330neo (one of which is leased from Hi-Fly), two ATR 72-600s, one A220, two A319s and two A321-200s.
