Silversea to transit Suez Canal six times in 2024/25, with port calls in Saudi
Silversea Cruises will offer six cruises through the Suez Canal in 2024 and 2025, with inaugral port calls to Saudi Arabia and expeditions to newly-unlocked UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Silversea’s Suez Canal cruises will be 16 to 17 days, with two of these cruises in November 2024, aboard Silver Spirit and Silver Whisper offering access to the Nabataean ruins of Hegra in northwest Saudi Arabia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Other noteworthy deployments include a set of 27 voyages devoted to Asia, including Silver Nova’s inaugural calls in the continent; 10 voyages to South America, including Silver Ray’s debut in the land of the Inca, the Amazon and the tango; 18 voyages to the Caribbean and Central America aboard Silver Shadow and Silver Moon, as well as Silver Ray’s inaugural voyage to the region; and 52 expeditions aboard Silver Origin, which will take guests closer to the natural wonders of the Galápagos Islands.
“Silversea has increased its industry-leading range of experiences with the launch of its largest itinerary collection to date for 2024/2025,” said Conrad Combrink, SVP Expeditions, Destination and Itinerary Management, Silversea Cruises. “With 341 itineraries unlocking both Polar Regions, the South Pacific, Africa and the Indian Ocean, the Galapagos, and so much more, Silversea has once again demonstrated its destination leadership, immersing curious travellers into the world in a way that only we can.”
“Our new voyage collection for summer 2024 and winter 2024/2025 reflects our guests’ desire for new and unique experiences in the most iconic and remote destinations around the world,” added Roberto Martinoli, President and CEO, Silversea Cruises. “Our new collection features 11 ships in our fleet—including Silver Ray, the second ship in our Nova class—with an increase in capacity of 56% by 2024 when compared to 2020; this will enable our guests to enjoy unprecedented choice in terms of ships and voyage options.”
This comes after Silversea revealed the itinerary for its 2025 World Cruise aboard Silver Dawn, which features several destinations in the Middle East, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. The new 2024/25 itineraries to the Middle East are a further expansion of Silversea’s commitment to the region, with a spate of Arabian voyages already announced for the coming 2023/24 season.
