Regent Seven Seas Cape Town cruise is fastest seller of the 2024 season Regent Seven Seas Cape Town cruise is fastest seller of the 2024 season

The ultra-luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises launched sales for its 2024/25 Voyage Collection  in the last week of August and has reported its largest-ever single-day booking period.

Demonstrating what the cruise line called the continued and growing appetite of luxury travellers, Regent beat its previous largest booking day of  August 18th, 2021, when it launched its 2023/24 Voyage Collection.

Leading the interest from guests was Seven Seas Splendor’s 2024 Lisbon to Cape Town 24-night itinerary, which attracted more reservations than any other.

Regent said this was a reflection of guests’ ongoing interest in exotic destinations with the desire to sail longer itineraries. Cruises that include destinations in  Africa,  Asia, and  South America  made up approximately 70% of the top 10 itineraries reserved.

“This is an incredible achievement and is testament to the hard-working Regent teams across both our ships and shore-side offices around the globe,” said Jason Montague, President & CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“This year’s voyage collection was highly appealing with more variety featuring over 160 new port-intensive itineraries that discover every part of the globe, including on board our newest ship Seven Seas Grandeur once she joins The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet in 2023,” he added.

After destination such as Africa,  Asia, and  South America, guests also expressed the most interest in the line’s distinctive suites, as well as the palatial, 4,443 square feet Regent Suite.

This reflects an industry-wide trend of passengers spending more onboard, splurging on luxury add-ons, onboard retail and specialty dining experiences as they re-discover the novelty of cruising after the pandemic.

The 2022 launch day for the cruise line’s 2024/25 itineraries is the company’s third record-breaking launch since 2020 when it unveiled its 2023/24 Voyage Collection. The unveiling of cruises several years out was then a novelty, but has since become a post-pandemic norm.

Seven Seas Spendor’s 2024 Lisbon to Cape Town cruise is a repositioning voyage that will see her return to South Africa for the winter cruise season in December, 2024.

The two 15-night roundtrip cruises from Cape Town in December will depart December 6th, and 21st, 2024, with the second departure also including Christmas Day at sea cruising the Wild Coast, while New Year will be celebrated in Maputo, Mozambique.

Other port calls on both itineraries include Walvis Bay in Namibia, and Mossel Bay, Port Elizabeth, Durban, and Richard’s Bay in South Africa.
