TAAG Angola Airlines renews its IOSA certification
In May 2021, TAAG Angola Airlines passed the International Air Transport Association (IOSA) operational safety audit. The context at the time (carried out remotely due to the health crisis) had only given a validity of one year, instead of two, to the said certification.
The operations of TAAG Angola Airlines remain and continue to be in compliance with international standards. Once again, the Angolan national airline has passed the IOSA audit. The assessment, which took place in May 2022, covered the organization and control of the quality system, operational safety, flight operations, operational dispatch, maintenance and engineering, cabin crew, ground operations, cargo operations and security against acts of unlawful interference.
"TAAG is firmly committed to operational safety of services and processes. Compliance provides a credibility advantage, superior operational capability, and a superior value proposition for our passengers and stakeholders at large," said Eduardo Fairen, TAAG CEO.
The IOSA audit is an internationally recognized assessment system designed to evaluate an airline's operational management and control systems. TAAG had already passed it in May 2021, after a remote assessment, conditioned by the restrictions related to the health crisis. As a result, this certification was only for one year (until May 2022), instead of the usual two.
For the Angolan public carrier, the renewal of this certification is "a solid demonstration of the company's compliance with the best practices of the international aviation industry. "TAAG's quality department carries out regular internal audits, reinforcing preventive methodologies and promoting continuous improvement," he said.
