MSC Orchestra will join MSC Sinfonia in cruising from Cape Town during the 2022/23 South African cruise season, with a full set of cruises to nowhere, to Mossel Bay, and Namibia.

MSC Orchestra will be taking a break from her Indian Ocean itineraries to join Sinfonia in Cape Town during the season, but the bulk of her cruises will be roundtrip from Durban to destinations in Mozambique.

The ship will sail four roundtrip cruises from Cape Town, and 31 from Durban during the season, which in South Africa runs from November, 2022 to March, 2023.

MSC Orchestra will kick off her South African cruise season out of Durban on November 19th, 2022, with a 2-night cruise to nowhere. This will be the only ‘booze cruise’ from Durban during the entirety of the season, although MSC Orchestra will also sail a cruise to nowhere from Cape Town on April 15th, 2023.

From Durban, there are also 3, and 4 night itineraries available, as well as a 7-night Christmas Cruise, and 14-night New Year Cruise departing December 19th and 26th.

  • The 7-night Christmas Cruise sails from Durban to Pomene Bay and Portuguese Island in Mozambique and back, while the 14-night New Year Cruise is a mini grand voyage out into the Indian Ocean to Mauritius, the Seychelles, and Nosy Be in Madagascar, as well as Portuguese Island.
  • The 3-night cruises sail overnight from Durban to Portuguese Island, and spend a day at sea on the way back. There are 11 of these itineraries, departing December 2nd, 9th, and 16th, 2022, as well as January 13th, 20th, and 27th, February 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, and March 3rd.
  • The 4-night cruises sail to Pomene Bay in Mozambique, with the ship spending a day at sea on the way out and back, making these a more popular options for those who want to feel like they’ve really been away on a proper cruise.

There are 14 of these cruises on offer, departing November 21st and 28th, December 12th, January 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th, February 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, as well as March 6th, 13th, and 20th.

In April, 2023, MSC Orchestra will cruise to Cape Town, where she will sail a further three roundtrip cruises.

On April 3rd and 7th, she’ll sail a 4-night cruise to Walvis Bay, and on April 15th, she’ll do a 2-night cruise to nowhere. Then on April 17th, she’ll depart Cape Town on her 27 night repositioning cruise to Civitavecchia (Rome), though this is also bookable as a 3-nighter ending in Durban.
