TAAG Angola Airlines returns to Pointe Noire after 13 years of absence
TAAG Angola Airlines continues to expand its international network. The Angolan carrier is now preparing its comeback in Congo, its northern neighbour, after several years of absence.
TAAG Angola Airlines plans to resume flights to Pointe-Noire in Congo from 12 December 2022.
On this date, the Angolan state-owned carrier will serve the Congolese economic capital three times a week, on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, from Luanda.
Flight DT522 will leave Luanda at 12.15pm and arrive in Pointe-Noire at 1.35pm. On the return leg, flight DT523 will leave the Congo at 14:15 and land in the Angolan capital at 15:35. The route will be offered without competition by Dash8-400.
TAAG Angola Airlines last served Pointe-Noire in March 2009. To date, there are no regular air links between Congo and Angola, two neighbouring Central African countries that share a common land border.
As part of its expansion plan, TAAG Angola Airlines also plans to re-launch Havana (on 8 November) and Accra (on 9 November, after 15 years of absence); to open Durban (on 17 November); and to increase its services to Spain and Portugal.
