Green Africa celebrates Black Friday with 10% dscounted fares
Green Africa Airways is offering its clients a 10 per cent discount on all fares on their routes to celebrate the Black Friday. Our correspondent gathered that the airline, which commenced scheduled flight services in August 2021, is offering the discounted fares for 10 days, starting from November 16 through November 25. The promo is tagged: ‘Green Friday.’
Unlike in the past when the Black Friday is celebrated for just one day, the airline is changing the narrative with 10-day promotion sales.
The airline stated that with the end of the year just around the corner, it encourages its customers to make the most of the sales, which allow them to travel from November 21 to December 10, 2022.
Its clients can also use the ticket to travel in the year from January 20 through February 28, 2023. According to the airline, to participate in the promo, customers must visit its website, insert “gFriday” in the promo code section on the website, and fill out the itinerary.
Green Africa had earlier in the year expressed a desire to become a major carrier in the country with a powerhouse for the training of aviation professionals in the near future.
The airline said it aimed to build human capacity in the sector by training young Nigerians who have the passion to become aviation professionals.
Mr. Babawande Afolabi, the Managing Director of the airline, had said in the next decade, the company would have produced over 200 pilots, 145 flight dispatchers, 500 cabin crew, 100 engineers, and about 500 other professionals for the sector.
According to him, this would stretch beyond the decade, as the airline hoped that its business template and training programmes would contribute immensely to the growth of the sector.
“Over the next decade, we are planning to graduate about 200 Captains, about 140 flight dispatchers, 500 cabin crew, 100 engineers, and about 500 other professionals. When we say other professionals, some people think of our training programme for pilots and engineers but there is a whole lot more within the aviation business, so you have network planning, aviation, and aircraft financing, so you see other areas where the 500 can attract,” he said.
He said the initiative aims to get four young pilots type-rated every month with a view to grooming them to become captains in four to five years’ time, according to professional standards.
