Namibia: Dune 7 in the Dorob National Park temporarily closed for renovations
The Namibian Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism has announced that Dune 7 in the Dorob National Park in Namibia's Erongo Region is temporarily closed until 15 December 2022.
According to the Ministry the closure of the recreational area is to allow for upgrade and renovation of ablution facilities and other tourism infrastructure of the area. The closure will also allow the Ministry to clean up the area ahead of the expected influx of people to the coastal areas of the country during the festive season 2022/23.
Dune 7 is the highest dune in Namibia with a height of over 380 meters. The dune is located in the Dorob National Park, which forms the link between the Skeleton Coast National Park in the north and the Namib Naukluft Park in the south along the Namibian Atlantic coast.
