Holland America 2025 Grand World Voyage to include 45-day Cape Town departure
Holland America Line has released the itineraries and opened bookings for two of its 2025 Grand Voyages, including the Pole-to-Pole and Grand World Voyage, which features a 45-day Cape Town leg.
Both cruises will depart Fort Lauderdale in January 2025 and marks the first time the cruise line has offered two Grand Voyages sailing over 120 days simultaneously. The 133-day Grand Voyage: Pole-to-Pole aboard the Volendam will visit five continents, while the 124-day Grand World Voyage aboard the Zuiderdam will span six continents.
The World Cruise aboard Zuiderdam can be booked as a full 124-day itinerary, or in separate shorter legs, with one of those departures featuring Cape Town as the turnaround port.
The 45-day homeward leg of the Grand World Voyage departs Cape Town on March 24th, 2025 and features 19 port calls on the South African and East African coasts, in the Indian Ocean, Red Sea and Mediterranean.
This 45-day voyage aboard Zuiderdam will visit Richard’s Bay in South Africa, Mombasa and Zanzibar, Safaga and Aqaba in Egypt and Jordan (the gateways to the ancient city of Luxor and the Lost City of Petra), as well as Cairo, Athens, Lisbon and more in the Med.
Other highlights of the full 124-day world cruise include nine overnight calls in Callao (two nights); Easter Island; Papeete, Tahiti; Sydney, Australia; Singapore; Cape Town; Mombasa, Kenya; Safaga, Egypt; and Barcelona.
The ship will call in 32 countries, visiting Machu Picchu, Easter Island, and the Great Barrier Reef in addition to other natural and manmade wonders of the world.
The Pole to Pole Grand Voyage meanwhile will include eight overnight calls in Fuerte Amador, Panama; Callao (Lima), Peru; Buenos, Aires, Argentina; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Barcelona, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and Reykjavik, Iceland.
“We craft one-of-a-kind itineraries that resonate with our world voyage guests, as indicated by pre-bookings on these cruises,” said Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line’s chief commercial officer. “Our team put together two amazing Grand Voyages so our guests can’t go wrong with either. We’re excited to offer two distinctly different, yet equally bucket-list itineraries.”
Passengers who book either cruise by June 3, 2024, get extra onboard credits and amenities valued at up to $8,800 or $8,500 respectively, per person.
